Job Description
TITLE OF POSITION : Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Retention BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE: MEA Administrators Unit; Pending Classification RESPONSIBILITIES The Associate Dean of Student Affairs & Retention provides leadership and strategic direction for student recruitment, admissions, enrollment, and retention initiatives across the college. This position develops and implements strategic recruitment, marketing, and retention plans; collaborates with faculty, academic departments, and campus leadership to support student success and persistence; and leads data-informed initiatives that enhance the student experience. The Associate Dean oversees outreach and communication with prospective and current students, including recruitment events, high school visits, and targeted engagement efforts for adult and non-traditional learners. This role also provides oversight for key Student Affairs functions, including student life programs, residential life, counseling services, admissions, and financial aid operations. The Associate Dean supervises professional staff, oversees student conduct and the student conduct process, and serves as a Title IX Coordinator in collaboration with other designated institutional coordinators to ensure compliance and provide campus-wide training and education. The position leads assessment efforts for Student Affairs programming, supports the development of co-curricular initiatives that enhance student engagement, and represents the division internally and externally while collaborating with campus partners to promote student well-being and success. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree related in educational or business administration, student personnel or appropriate field. Minimum 5 years' experience in higher education. Experience in community and public relations. Master's degree in college student personnel administration, higher education
