The Department of Pediatrics at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine seeks a pediatric hospitalist to serve as Division Chief of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. This role offers the opportunity to lead a well-established, academically mature division-home to Virginia's only ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship-while helping shape its next phase of growth within a rapidly expanding children's hospital. Reporting directly to the Chair of Pediatrics, the Division Chief will lead the clinical, academic, and educational missions of Pediatric Hospital Medicine across CHoR and the broader VCU Health system. This leader will mentor a diverse faculty, collaborate closely with hospital and health system leadership, and steward inpatient pediatric care strategy during a period of increasing volumes, service expansion, and institutional investment. This is an opportunity to step into a strong foundation, bring vision to a respected program, and influence pediatric inpatient care across a major regional referral center. Opportunity Highlights Lead the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at VCU Provide strategic oversight for clinical, academic, and educational missions Mentor and develop a collegial group of senior, mid-career, and junior faculty Oversee Virginia's only ACGME-accredited Pediatric Hospital Medicine fellowship Maintain an active clinical presence as a pediatric hospitalist Collaborate with department, hospital, and health system leadership on growth initiatives including expanding inpatient capacity. Guide quality, safety, and systems-based care in a complex academic children's hospital Step into a division that is academically strong, operationally stable, and positioned for continued expansion Qualifications: Board-certified in Pediatric Hospital Medicine;5 + years of clinical experience in pediatric hospital medicine; demonstrated leadership or program development experience; and qualifications for appointment at the Associate Professor level.
