Requisition Number: 55846 Nuclear Criticality Safety Manager Position Overview: Develop, implement, and maintain the Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) Program as specified by company policy, regulatory agencies, and license conditions in a manner to assure criticality safety and preclude regulatory violations. Location: Onsite in Erwin, TN. Your Day to Day as a Engineer 1 : Establish and maintain the overall system to assure nuclear criticality safety at NFS. Review and approve all standard operating procedures (SOPs), letters of authorization (LOAs), and major work orders (MWOs) as they relate to NCS. Maintain awareness of NRC NCS concerns and trends and of industry NCS trends. Lead or participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies regarding NCS-related matters. Develop, maintain, and lead a well-trained, motivated, and capable NCS staff. Initiate and manage MCS activities conducted by outside consultant firms. Develop and maintain a professional relationship with NFS Operations and a prospective of their needs - all directed towards cost-effective implementation of NCS requirements. Ensure that effective NCS controls and procedures exist and that timely verifications and audits are taken to ensure in-the-field compliance; that the results of such verifications and audits are analyzed, and that - where needed - NCS controls and procedures are improved. Required Qualifications: B. S. - Engineering, Safety or technical discipline Nine to ten years' experience with B. S. degree in Nuclear Criticality safety field with increasing responsibilities leading to prior supervisory experience. Extensive experience with NRC regulations and guidance documents. In depth understanding of criticality safety calculations and presentation formats using state-of-the-art techniques. Pay: $114,000 - $180,000 The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $114,000 and $180,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
