Job Description
Supplemental Health Care, a nationwide healthcare staffing agency committed to caring for caregivers, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to support our Healthcare & Medical Services partners. In this role, you will bring your clinical expertise and patient-centered approach to hospitals and imaging facilities that rely on us to meet critical staffing needs. Working within a mission-driven, collaborative, and people-focused culture, you will perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures while making a meaningful impact on patient care. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with Supplemental Health Care, you will be responsible for performing a full range of nuclear medicine studies, including general nuclear medicine, SPECT, SPECT-CT, and PET exams, in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and regulatory standards. You will prepare, verify, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately, maintain strict radiation safety practices, and consistently apply ALARA principles to protect patients, yourself, and staff. Your strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and imaging techniques will support high-quality image acquisition and contribute to accurate diagnostic interpretations. You will assess and prepare patients for examinations by verifying identity, explaining procedures, obtaining relevant clinical history, and responding to questions in a clear and compassionate manner. During procedures, you will monitor patient condition, comfort, and safety, adjusting as needed to accommodate varying levels of mobility, acuity, and anxiety. You will position patients correctly, perform required immobilization, and ensure that imaging studies are completed efficiently and with diagnostic quality. Daily responsibilities will include operating and caring for nuclear medicine cameras, PET scanners, computers, and related equipment. You will perform routine quality control, troubleshoot minor technical issues, and collaborate with on-site leadership or service engineers when equipment concerns arise. You will acquire, process, and evaluate images using appropriate software, ensuring that studies meet clinical requirements before submission to radiologists or interpreting physicians. Accurate documentation within electronic medical records, radiation logs, and regulatory forms will be an important part of your work. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will communicate effectively with radiologists, cardiologists, nurses, technologists, and other professionals to coordinate patient care, clarify exam protocols, and support timely reporting of results. You will adhere to infection prevention, patient privacy, and hospital policies at each client facility, demonstrating adaptability as you move between different clinical settings. Your professionalism, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills will help you integrate quickly into new environments and maintain positive working relationships. Supplemental Health Care offers you the opportunity to grow professionally while supporting facilities across diverse communities. By joining our team, you will help ensure that patients receive timely access to high-quality diagnostic imaging. You will have the chance to build lasting relationships with clinicians and client facilities, backed by a company that values diversity, professional development, and the well-being of healthcare professionals. In addition to competitive compensation, you may have access to medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement benefits, along with ongoing support from a dedicated staffing team focused on your success and satisfaction.
