Behavioral Health The Contra Costa Health Services Behavioral Health Division, in partnership with consumers, families, staff and community-based agencies, provides welcoming and integrated services for mental health, substance abuse, and other needs that promote wellness, recovery, and resiliency while respecting the complexity and diversity of the people we serve. This position oversees a growing team of approximately 40 nursing professionals within a comprehensive Behavioral Health Division serving 25,000 beneficiaries annually. Reporting to the Medical Director, the manager provides essential clinical leadership and administrative oversight across 12+ outpatient clinics to ensure high-quality mental health and substance use treatment. Key responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, conducting site audits, and collaborating with multidisciplinary leadership to maintain compliance with state healthcare standards. This role is central to the division's expansion, requiring a mix of strategic program management and hands-on support for frontline clinical operations throughout the county. Contra Costa Regional Medical Center Contra Costa Regional Medical Center is currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Program Manager to fill a vital vacancy within our leadership team. Due to the specialized nature of the ICU and IMCU, this role provides essential, continuous oversight to ensure high standards of patient care, strict regulatory compliance, and seamless operational continuity. In this critical capacity, you will manage the daily operations and quality of nursing services, from developing department policies and managing budgets to spearheading quality improvement initiatives. Beyond primary unit leadership, this role requires a collaborative approach to provide cross-coverage for other nursing units as needed and involves a dedicated on-call responsibility of approximately 15 days per month. You will serve as a vital link between interdisciplinary teams, conducting regular rounds, mentoring staff, and ensuring excellence in both clinical outcomes and the overall patient experience. What You Will Typically Be Responsible For Planning, developing and implementing policies and procedures and standards for nursing services within Behavioral Health. Hiring, training, supervising and evaluating subordinate staff. Visiting care sites regularly to ensure care provided is appropriate and documented. Counseling and disciplining subordinate staff and conferring with the Behavioral Health Director or designee regarding personnel issues. Providing required nursing coverage at all programs of responsibility.
