Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QA EMR Tester to join our healthcare technology team. This role is responsible for testing and validating all functionality within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to ensure accuracy, compliance, usability, and performance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on nursing experience using EMR software and a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, documentation standards, OASIS reporting, and HIPAA compliance requirements. The QA EMR Tester will work closely with developers, implementation specialists, and clinical staff to identify issues, improve workflows, and ensure the EMR platform operates efficiently from patient intake through discharge documentation. Job Responsibilities Perform quality assurance testing on all EMR system functionality, workflows, and modules. Test patient charting workflows from start to finish, including patient intake, assessments, care plans, visit notes, scheduling, billing-related documentation, and discharge processes. Validate OASIS documentation, reporting accuracy, and compliance requirements within the EMR system. Identify software bugs, workflow issues, and usability concerns, then document and report findings to the development team. Conduct regression testing after system updates or feature enhancements. Ensure the EMR platform meets HIPAA compliance and healthcare documentation standards. Create and manage test patient records to simulate real-world clinical scenarios. Verify accuracy of clinical forms, nursing documentation, physician orders, medication records, and reporting tools. Collaborate with nurses, clinicians, developers, and implementation staff to improve system performance and user experience. Assist with testing new features, integrations, and software releases before deployment. Maintain detailed testing documentation, issue logs, and quality assurance reports. Qualifications Previous experience working with EMR/EHR software is required. Nursing or clinical healthcare experience strongly preferred. Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and patient documentation processes. Experience with OASIS assessments and home healthcare documentation preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance standards. Ability to create and manage patient records from intake through completion of care documentation. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills Experience testing home healthcare or clinical software platforms. Familiarity with QA testing processes and bug-tracking systems. Knowledge of Medicare documentation standards and compliance requirements. Ability to identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
