Overview The Observation Unit Advanced Practice Provider utilizes a patient-centered coordinated care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making. The APN or PA works collaboratively with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs. The position will cover multiple cardiac service lines where needed (Observation, HF/MI, and Cath lab). -Minimum of 3 years of experience in an acute care setting (hospital-based experience) required -Cardiology experience strongly preferred -Current APP licensure and certification (ACNP or PA) in good standing -Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills -Excellent communication skills, proven team player, ability to multitask and prioritize, and proactive and creative problem-solver with a focus on process improvement, care coordination, and patient-centered solutions. Evenings, per diem Responsibilities Performs and documents accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments appropriate for the patient's age, gender, and clinical problem. 2. Orders, performs, and interprets laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures in collaboration with physicians and consultants as appropriate. 3. Manages general medical and surgical conditions based on comprehensive knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, and the indications and contraindications of pharmacologic agents and other treatment modalities. 4. Prescribes medication safely and effectively in accordance with best practices, hospital policy, and NJ regulations, providing patient education as needed. 5.
