The Department of Clinical Sciences in the newly established Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine invites applications for a clinical faculty position in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. We are recruiting new faculty who have achieved excellence in education, teaching, and research and are prepared to contribute to our bold vision (medicine/). This position will be Full FTE Medical Education (.Serve as a facilitator in the pre-clerkship physicians, patients, and population course • Serve as a small group facilitator for pre-clerkship courses during Phase 1 of our curriculum • Contribute to the Integrated Clinical Cases within the Basic Science phase of the pre-clerkship curriculum and contribute to other courses, as needed, for reproductive-related health topics. In collaboration with the Ob/Gyn clerkship director, design and deliver educational Ob/Gyn clinical content for the academic half day of the longitudinal integrated clerkship. Serve as the lead for career advising for medical students pursuing an Ob/gyn residency. Evaluate and treat patients with ambulatory obstetrical conditions such as normal intrauterine pregnancy and gestational diabetes at the UH Family Care Center. Manage ambulatory gynecological conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding and abnormal pap smears. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives at the UH Family Care Center. Medical degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic college of medicine • Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics & Gynecology. Medical Licensure or the ability to obtain licensure in the State of Texas • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decision-making • Five years of experience providing clinical care in the field of Obstetrics & Gynecology • Experience, interest, and demonstrated abilities teaching medical students • Familiarity with accreditation standards for medical education (e.g., o Cover Letter/Letter of Application
