Position Occupational Therapist - 10-month position Posting Date May 4, 2026 Starting Date June 1, 2026 Application Due Date May 14, 2026 Qualifications Licensed and currently registered or eligible for licensure and registration by the New York State Education Department as an Occupational Therapist. Possession of a license and registration by the New York State Education Department as an Occupational Therapist at the time of appointment. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of the principles, techniques and practices of occupational therapy; good knowledge of the operation and minor maintenance of apparatus and equipment used in occupational therapy; good knowledge of community resources available to support or supplement the occupational therapy program; ability to evaluate, plan and execute treatments for patients; ability to plan and supervise the work of others; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Job Goal Occupational therapy within the educational environment is directed toward providing services to allow the student with a physical disability to participate on and benefit from the least restrictive educational program. To fulfill the Mission of the District and the school assigned Reports to Building Principal Responsibilities Provides screening for students suspected of having a physically or fine motor related disability. Provides evaluations for referred students in conjunction with multidisciplinary assessment team.
