Job Description
Job Summary We Are Talking, Inc. is a multidisciplinary clinic with speech and occupational therapists working independently, but collaboratively, to support the needs of the pediatric population. There is a need for occupational therapists seeking to building a private practice caseload. In this role, expert level occupational therapy services provided to the pediatric population are expected. This position offers flexible hours to accommodate your schedule while making a meaningful impact on patient lives through tailored therapy interventions. Duties Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to develop personalized care plans that promote optimal functioning. Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to enhance independence. Implement therapeutic interventions for individuals with disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and varies medical and developmental disorders impacting the pediatric population. Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings. Conduct case management activities including progress documentation, treatment adjustments, and goal setting. Provide education and training to patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques and safety strategies. Maintain detailed records of patient care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies. Qualifications Valid occupational therapy license or certification in the relevant state or region. Experience with early intervention, pediatrics, and outpatient clinics is preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and patient care principles. Familiarity with assisting patients with ADLs. Experience with AAC device use is highly recommended. Ability to work effectively with individuals with autism and other complex disabilities across the ages is recommended. Strong case management skills are encouraged and the ability to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs. Experience with sensory integration, supporting emotional and physical regulation, modeling strategies to be implemented outside of therapy, and follow up with monitoring practices carried out at home and school is the most important aspect of working at We Are Talking, Inc.
