Job Description
We are currently looking for a part-time Occupational Therapist for 3 days/week (days flexible) at our Preschool Program located in Queens. Why Join ADAPT? It's more than a job; it's a calling. SUMMARY Under general direction, is responsible for evaluating and treating students in order to facilitate rehabilitation and independence in daily living skills of children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Duties and activities may vary based on assignments and programs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist will include, but are not limited to the following: Evaluates children referred to the program to establish learning and performance capabilities and develop a treatment plan to attain established goals working within the scope of the student's disability. Evaluation includes activities of daily living (feeding, dressing, grooming, hygiene, transfers), fine motor and gross motor skills, sensory awareness, perceptual motor skills, homemaking, and independent living skills.
