Job Description
Description The Occupational Therapist provides therapeutic services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to improve their ability to perform daily living and work-related tasks. This role involves assessment, treatment planning, implementation of therapy programs, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to support individual goals. Key Responsibilities Conduct assessments to evaluate individuals' functional abilities and therapy needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Provide direct occupational therapy services to individuals. Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic care. Educate individuals, families, and staff on therapy techniques and goals. Ensure compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements. Requirements Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Current Alabama Occupational Therapy License in good standing. Experience in Early Intervention preferred, or experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license; must be insurable by the agency's insurance. Ability to pass pre-employment screening. Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of child development, sensory processing, and family-centered intervention practices. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to coach caregivers and work with families from diverse backgrounds. <
