Physician – Occupational Medicine / Urgent Care (Locum Tenens) Location: Amarillo, TX 79102 Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Assignment End Date: 12/31/2026 Position Overview A dedicated Occupational Medicine/Urgent Care Physician is needed to provide locum tenens coverage at an outpatient clinic in Amarillo, TX. This role includes treating scheduled and walk‑in work‑related injuries, performing occupational health evaluations, and managing urgent care needs in a fast‑paced clinical environment. The ideal provider practices confidently and autonomously, with experience in occupational health or urgent care settings. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat work‑related injuries in an outpatient setting. Perform pre‑placement exams, DOT physicals, public safety evaluations, and surveillance physicals. Evaluate and treat walk‑in urgent care patients. Perform office‑based procedures within scope and competency. Collaborate with and provide oversight to Advanced Practice Providers (as applicable). Communicate with employers regarding employee health, restrictions, and return‑to‑work guidance. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation. Deliver care aligned with established clinical standards and organizational values. Required Skills & Experience Occupational Medicine: Highly desired; minimum 1 year. Office‑based procedures: Required; minimum 1 year. Urgent Care experience: Preferred; minimum 1 year. Ability to practice autonomously: Required. Licensure & Certifications Active, unrestricted state medical license (confirm Texas and/or Missouri as needed). Active, unrestricted DEA registration. Current DOT Medical Examiner Certification (must be active before first shift).
