The onsite IT Technician is responsible for providing day-to-day technical support for Aero Star Aviation’s technology infrastructure, including computer systems, networks, printers, mobile devices, and software applications. This role supports office staff, maintenance technicians, and operational teams to ensure reliable and secure technology services in a fast-paced aviation environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This position is Monday to Friday from 8:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Provide first-line technical support for hardware, software, and network issues. Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and mobile devices. Set up user accounts, passwords, and access permissions. Troubleshoot Microsoft 365 applications, email, and Teams. Monitor and maintain local networks, Wi-Fi, VPN connections, and internet connectivity. Provide software updates, security patches, and antivirus management. Maintain IT asset inventory and software licensing records. Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers. Support backups and disaster recovery processes. Document technical procedures and recurring issues. Assist with cybersecurity awareness and data protection initiatives. Support specialized aviation and maintenance software as needed. Equipped to train all personnel when new software is acquired by Aero Star. Requirements and Skills Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software used to complete and maintain records. Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to train and roll out new software. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Education and Experience: Degree in information technology or related field preferred. 3+ years of hands-on IT support experience. Must pass security 10-year background check and drug and alcohol tests. Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices. Corridor software experience is preferred but not required. Experience in aviation or regulated industries is preferred but not required. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work under desks or in server rooms for a minimum of 8 hours a day. May require standing, walking, bending, and occasional travel between facilities. Work Environment This position works in an office and aircraft maintenance environment and may be exposed to moderate noise levels and operational activity.
