Columbia University in the City of New York: Columbia University Irving Medical Center: Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons: Dermatology Open Date Mar 28, 2026 Salary Range or Pay Grade $375,000.00-$502,401.00 Description Columbia University’s Department of Dermatology invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Associate/Professor of Dermatology on the tenure track or tenured. This position is part of a strategic expansion under the leadership of the Department Chair, Dr. Aimee Payne, aimed at advancing the department’s legacy of transformative research and clinical innovation. About Columbia Dermatology: Columbia Dermatology has over a century-long tradition of excellence in dermatologic research, education, and patient care. Our faculty have pioneered landmark discoveries including: The use of corticosteroids for autoimmune skin diseases Development of the antifungal agent nystatin Innovations in photopheresis and Janus kinase inhibitors Advances in precision medicine, tissue engineering, and diagnostics The department is internationally recognized for its contributions to skin cancer, autoimmunity, bioengineering, wound healing, translational science, and more. Responsibilities: Lead and expand research initiatives within the Irving Comprehensive Skin Cancer Center Develop an independent, externally funded research program in basic, translational, or clinical dermatology Collaborate across CUIMC and Columbia University to foster interdisciplinary research Mentor trainees and junior faculty Contribute to teaching and service within the department and university Qualifications Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. (or equivalent) in a relevant field. Demonstrated potential for excellence in research and scholarship. Commitment to advancing dermatologic science and improving patient outcomes. Experience or interest in skin cancer research.
