Job Description
Incredible Health, a digital platform transforming how hospitals and health systems hire permanent staff, is seeking Operating Room / Surgical Nurses to deliver exceptional perioperative care within our partner healthcare and medical services organizations. In this role, you will provide comprehensive care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced operating room environment. As an Operating Room / Surgical Nurse, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate all aspects of the surgical experience. You will perform detailed pre-operative assessments, verify consents, review histories, and prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery. Intraoperatively, you may function as a circulating nurse, managing the overall environment, maintaining sterility, documenting the case, communicating critical information, and advocating for the patient, or as a scrub nurse, preparing and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment while anticipating the needs of the surgical team. Post-operatively, you will support safe transfer and recovery, monitor patient status, manage pain, and participate in discharge planning and patient education. You will apply strict aseptic and sterile techniques, adhere to facility and regulatory standards, and maintain vigilant attention to infection prevention and patient safety protocols. Using your strong clinical judgment, you will monitor vital signs and patient responses, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions. You will accurately document care in the electronic medical record, communicate effectively with physicians and colleagues, and contribute to efficient operating room turnover and case flow. Your work will support quality outcomes, reduced complications, and a positive patient and family experience. Aligned with Incredible Health’s technology-driven and innovation-focused culture, you will be comfortable working within digital platforms and modern clinical systems, embracing process improvements and data-informed practices. You will participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, adopt evidence-based perioperative standards, and collaborate on efforts to optimize scheduling, throughput, and resource utilization. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a dynamic, high-acuity environment and who are motivated by both direct patient care and the opportunity to be part of a broader transformation in healthcare staffing and operations. Day-to-day, you can expect to prepare operating rooms with appropriate equipment and supplies, perform comprehensive surgical safety checks, assist with anesthesia induction and patient positioning, maintain accurate counts of instruments and sponges, manage surgical specimens, and ensure compliance with all safety checklists and time-out procedures. You will coordinate with recovery and inpatient units for smooth patient transitions and provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families regarding perioperative expectations and post-operative care instructions. Incredible Health offers opportunities for professional growth, including exposure to a range of surgical specialties, access to educational resources through its platform, and the chance to build a long-term career in perioperative nursing within leading hospitals and health systems. The environment is fast-paced and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on quality, efficiency, and the use of technology to support better outcomes for both patients and clinicians. This position is best suited for detail-oriented, adaptable Operating Room / Surgical Nurses who are committed to high standards of safety, continuous learning, and delivering outstanding surgical care.
