About us United Community Options of South Florida, affiliated with United Cerebral Palsy, serves more than 1,600 infants, children, and adults at over 60 locations in Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach & Mid-Coast Counties.United Community Options serves children and adults with a wide range of needs and abilities including physical, intellectual, and neurological disabilities, as well as developmental delays and developmental disabilities, such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, Prader-Willi syndrome, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury (TBI), and those who are technology dependent or medically fragile.In addition, we serve typically developing children and adolescents in many of our programs.Part-time(40 HRS/WEEK) Monday-Friday $19.00/HR RESPONSIBILITIES Provide strong leadership in daily operations in the Transportation department to assure that work is performed efficiently in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures of UCO and any local, state or federal entity.The Operations Assistant is responsible for the transportation of adults and children with developmental disabilities in Broward.Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the bus fleet maintenance (coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance, annual ASE, & Lift Inspections, Fire Extinguishers inspections with our current vendors.Direct the daily routing and scheduling for EBA & ADT transportation including the ACT program in Broward.Facilitate meetings with transportation staff during in-service days to address operational and safety issues related to transportation.Meet regularly with program Directors to provide information with issues including status changes for clients and students.Participate in Residential area and ADT In-service meetings to address operational and safety issues related to transportation.Resolve daily operational problems and emergencies in Broward with drivers and FLEET..Ability to facilitate and promote conflict resolution.Handle accidents and/or incidents related to transportation:complete Drivers Vehicle Accident Report, investigates and ensure all information related the accident is collected this includes; internal incident report, police crash report (if applicable), photos and citation (if applicable) and submit to Operator Manager for review.Assure Drivers and Aides are completing the daily attendance forms.Collect attendance forms.Collects and submit all attendance forms to Operator Manager.Supervise the day-to-day operations for the ACT grant including making sure drivers complete their attendance form daily and submit to Operator Manager.Serve as trainer for the Defensive Driving Course (typically during orientation and training days).Coordinate with Human Resources training needs of Drivers and new hires.Assist with Audits such as Triennial Review and the 1490.Assist with the 5310 grant.Complete Transportation Surveys for the School Board.Ability to interact positively and effectively with students/ clients, parents/guardians, staff and administrators.Keep the parking lot and areas assignees to the fleet accessible.Conduct research on new transportation safety practices and vehicle models.Knowledge of basic computer skills such as using Outlook, Excel, Word etc.Coordinate weekly meeting with supervisor Operator Manager Responsible for coordinating monthly fire drills for ADT and EBA.Daily communicate with staff and families of any changes.Coordinate program field trips as requested by Directors.Respond to staff and families (parents/guardian) requests.Assist Maintenance Department in Broward as needed.Other assigned duties.Work Remotely No Job Type:Full-time Pay:$19.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Referral program Vision insurance Schedule:8 hour shift Day shift Monday to Friday Education:High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience:Driving:3 years (Preferred) License/Certification:Driver's License (Required) Work Location:In person.
