Operations & Maintenance Manager Data Center Project — Amarillo, TX Department: Operations & Maintenance Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Amarillo, TX (Relocation Available) POSITION OVERVIEW ON.energy is seeking an experienced Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead day-to-day field operations at our data center project in Amarillo, Texas. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing a high-performing field service team, ensuring asset reliability, and serving as the primary operational interface with the customer. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leadership & Daily Operations Direct the day-to-day activities of the field service technician team, including scheduling, task prioritization, and performance oversight. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement across all site personnel. Conduct regular team meetings, toolbox talks, and performance reviews to ensure alignment with project goals and ON.energy standards. Read and interpret applicable Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) to understand the team’s contractual responsibilities and ensure day-to-day operations are carried out accordingly. Safety & Compliance Champion a safety-first culture by ensuring all team members adhere to established safety protocols, OSHA standards, and site-specific procedures at all times. Enforce operational procedures and work instructions, conducting periodic audits to verify compliance. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation as required. Vendor Management Analyze, qualify, and select third-party vendors and subcontractors to support maintenance, repairs, and specialty services on-site. Manage vendor relationships, evaluate performance, and ensure all contracted work meets quality, safety, and cost targets. Solicit and review bids, negotiate scope of work, and make recommendations for vendor selection and contract renewals. Customer Reporting & Relationship Management Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the customer, providing regular operational updates and performance summaries. Prepare and deliver detailed operational reports, KPI dashboards, and maintenance summaries on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis. Build and maintain a trusted, transparent relationship with the customer by proactively communicating issues, milestones, and recommendations. CMMS & Data Integrity Ensure the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is accurately maintained and updated in real time, reflecting all work orders, preventive maintenance tasks, corrective actions, and equipment history. Enforce CMMS data entry standards across the team and leverage system data for planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Generate and analyze CMMS reports to identify trends, optimize maintenance schedules, and support asset lifecycle decisions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, Facilities Management, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered Experience 5+ years of experience in operations and maintenance management, preferably within data center, energy, or critical infrastructure environments Leadership Demonstrated experience managing and developing field service teams in a fast-paced, safety-critical setting Technical Skills Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, UPS, generators, and data center infrastructure; familiarity with LTSAs and vendor contracts CMMS Proficiency Hands-on experience with CMMS platforms (e.g., IBM Maximo, UpKeep, Fiix, or equivalent); ability to enforce data discipline across a team Certifications Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR, OSHA 30, and NFPA 70E certifications upon hire; data center certifications (CDCP, CDCE) a plus Commu
