Operations Manager in Training Franchise & Real Estate $45,000 - $55,000 / year Full-Time Greater Sacramento Area Growth track to Operations Director In-Person The Opportunity This is not a standard job.You will work directly alongside an entrepreneur who owns and operates two franchise restaurants, a franchise convenience store, and a rental property portfolio -- with active business and real estate acquisitions ongoing.You won't be fetching coffee or managing a calendar.You'll be learning how a real portfolio of businesses actually runs -- sitting in on deal analysis, attending property walkthroughs, managing vendor relationships, overseeing current business managers performance, and handling the operational details that free the owner to focus on growth.The goal is straightforward:within 2-3 years, you run the day-to-day so the owner can focus entirely on acquisitions and expansion.This role is built to be outgrown upward.What You'll Actually Do Shadow the owner across all business locations and learn how each operates Track weekly sales, expenses, and KPIs across franchise and retail locations Communicate with store managers, property managers, and contractors on open items Coordinate vendor relationships, maintenance requests, and renovation projects Research real estate markets, pull comparable data, and assist in evaluating new acquisitions Review potential business opportunities and prepare simple financial summaries Build and maintain systems and SOPs so nothing falls through the cracks Gradually take ownership of tasks the owner currently handles personally Who We're Looking For Credentials matter less than drive.Here's what we actually care about:Bachelor's degree required (any field -- business, finance, and real estate are a plus, not a requirement) 0-3 years of experience -- you don't need a resume full of titles, you need hunger and coachability You think like an owner, not an employee -- you notice problems and solve them without being asked Organized, reliable, and relentless about follow-through Comfortable with numbers -- you don't need to be an accountant, but basic financial math can't scare you Strong communicator -- clear in email, text, and in-person Own vehicle, valid license, and comfortable traveling throughout the Greater Sacramento area, including Citrus Heights and Elk Grove, with occasional travel further out Genuinely interested in business ownership, real estate investing, or entrepreneurship long-term Compensation & Growth Path Starting salary $45,000 - $55,000 / year depending on background Mileage reimbursement Provided for travel to evaluate new business or real estate opportunities outside of regular bus Year 1 Learn operations, build trust, take over defined task areas Year 2 Promoted to Operations Manager, overseeing day-to-day across all locations Year 3Potential for performance bonus and profit-sharing as scope grows Schedule Full-time, Monday - Friday, day shift In-person with regular travel between Sacramento-area locations Occasional flexibility needed -- this is a real business, not a 9-to-5 box Application Question Describe a time you took ownership of something that wasn't technically your responsibility.What did you do, and what was the outcome?
