Job Overview: The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, scheduling and overseeing projects across the CPA firm to ensure client deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and according to firm standards. This role partners closely with partners, managers, and staff accountants to manage workflows, improve efficiency, and support high-quality client service across tax, audit, accounting, and advisory engagements. Primary Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution Plan, track, and manage client engagements and internal initiatives simultaneously Establish project timelines, milestones, and deliverables for tax, audit, and advisory engagements Monitor project progress and proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, or resource constraints Ensure projects remain on schedule, within scope, and aligned with firm priorities Client & Partner Coordination Serve as a central point of coordination between partners, managers, staff, and clients Support a high-quality client experience by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of services Facilitate kickoff meetings, status updates, and post-engagement reviews Communicate project status, deadlines, and expectations to internal teams and clients Workflow & Process Management Manage engagement workflows using firm workflow management and practice management tools Coordinate resource allocation and capacity planning across teams Standardize and improve project management processes Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and support scalability Reporting & Compliance Track key metrics such as deadlines, utilization, and engagement status Prepare regular project status reports for firm leadership Ensure compliance with firm policies, professional standards, and regulatory deadlines Support documentation and quality control processes Technology & Tools Use and help optimize tools such as practice management software, document management and workflow systems Train team members on project management processes and tools as needed Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in a professional services or CPA firm environment Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in project management and workflow tools (e.g., practice management software, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms) Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a CPA firm, accounting firm, or professional services environment Familiarity with tax, audit, or accounting workflows Experience with process improvement or change management initiatives Key Skills & Competencies: Attention to detail and strong follow-through Ability to work effectively with partners, managers, and staff at all levels Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Discretion and professionalism when handling client and firm information What We Offer: Competitive compensation and performance-based bonuses Medical, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with employer contribution Paid time off and paid holidays Flexible/hybrid work environment (position-dependent) Collaborative and supportive firm culture Equal Opportunity Employer: Weiss & Company LLP is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
