Position Description The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the daily execution and stability of operations while managing hourly employees. This role owns operational outcomes across fulfillment, inventory, and logistics functions, including oversight of operational execution across multiple fulfillment channels, ensuring performance targets for productivity, accuracy, service levels, and safety are consistently met. The Operations Supervisor directs daily operations, resolves challenges, and drives execution to achieve performance objectives, exercising independent judgment in workflow planning, decision-making, and workforce supervision. This role supports strategic distribution of work and order allocation strategies across multiple channels to optimize throughput and operational efficiency. The role includes collaboration with other supervisors to maintain comprehensive operational coverage and a unified approach, ensuring that team development, training practices, and process execution remain consistent across the operation. The rate for this position is $50,000-$55,000/year, depending on experience. This is a salaried, exempt position with work requirements driven by operational demand. The role requires flexibility, preparation, and proactive planning to support operational readiness without adhering to a fixed schedule. Core Responsibilities Operational Execution & Performance Management Execute daily operational plans and ensure alignment with established performance targets. Monitor operational performance and adjust labor, priorities, and workflows as conditions change. Identify performance gaps or disruptions and independently develop and implement corrective action plans. Assume responsibility for assigned operational duties of colleagues during periods of absence to safeguard continuity of operations. Maintain operational stability, execution discipline, and consistent service delivery. Oversee operational execution across multiple fulfillment channels, ensuring coordinated workflows, clear handoffs, and consistent performance standards across all channels. Manage carrier communications and scheduling to support outbound volume, service-level commitments, and on-time shipment execution. Develop, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent execution of operational processes across teams and fulfillment channels. Create, update, and manage visual aids (process maps, work instructions, signage, and job aids) to support training, execution accuracy, and operational clarity on the floor. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Oversight & Reporting Own and manage daily operational KPIs, encompassing productivity and labor efficiency, throughput, order accuracy, execution quality, service-level adherence, on-time performance, inventory accuracy and variance resolution, workforce effectiveness and readiness, and issue resolution to maintain operational stability. Review and analyze operational data beyond clerical reporting to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities. Provide clear, timely operational reporting and performance insights to the Operations Manager. Monitor performance across fulfillment channels and evaluate order allocation effectiveness to ensure balanced capacity utilization and service performance. Workforce Leadership & Supervision Interview, select, onboard, and train employees in alignment with operational needs and performance standards. Assign work, set schedules, and allocate labor based on workload, order complexity, and business priorities. Evaluate employee productivity and performance, including regular one-on-one meetings and formal reviews, focusing on consistent performance relative to team standards, adherence to company behaviors, and individual development. Conduct audits and provide training to ensure employees meet operational standards, maintain departmental compliance, and execute processes in alignment with operational expectations. Address employee concerns, performance issues, and disciplinary matters in accordance with department or company policy. Lead by example, setting expectations for professionalism, preparedness, and accountability. Track and monitor employee attendance, ensuring accurate reporting, trend awareness, and timely corrective action as needed.
