Ophthalmologist – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) Job Title Opthalmology Physician – Independent Practice Physician (Ownership Model, Not Employed) Job Type Many physicians want clinical autonomy but avoid private practice due to billing complexity, staffing risk, payer contracting, and administrative overhead. This opportunity is for physicians who want to practice independently while receiving structured operational support for the non-clinical business functions of their own practice. No prior business ownership experience is required. Overview This posting is for physicians interested in establishing or transitioning into an independently operated medical practice supported by MedCBO’s administrative infrastructure. Physicians own and operate their own practice entity, while MedCBO provides non‑clinical business and operational support services. The physician governs clinical operations, clinical decisions, and sets patient care policies. MedCBO does not direct patient care. Opportunity Description We work with physicians seeking to: Start a new private practice Transition from employment to ownership Convert an existing practice to a supported model Relocate and establish a practice in a new market MedCBO supports administrative and operational functions while the physician independently operates the medical practice. Provide care within the physician’s specialty scope Develop professional relationships within the medical community. MedCBO coordinates payer credentialing with physician participation as required. Determine clinical services offered Manage clinical quality and patient experience Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination Billing and collections management Financial infrastructure and reporting Operational workflows and staffing systems Technology platform and implementation Requirements MD or DO with unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state of practice Board Certified or Board Eligible in a specialty appropriate to the clinical services provided Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions that would prevent independent practice Interest in the independent practice model Preferred Desire for practice ownership Community‑based care interest Leadership or program development interest Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Relocation and market selection are physician‑directed, subject to licensure. Compensation Compensation is not a salary and is generated by the physician‑owned practice.
