Job Description
The MetroHealth System , a major teaching affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is an integrated health system handling more than one million patient visits a year. As Northeast Ohio’s most experienced Level 1 Trauma Center and a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, we are dedicated to the care and management of patients with a wide range of chronic and acute neurological and ophthalmologic disorders. We focus on care access and quality, faculty development, interprofessional education and clinical and academic collaborations. We have outstanding neurology and ophthalmology teams and are growing. We are seeking a board certified or eligible Ophthalmologist with Neuro‑Ophthalmology Fellowship training to join our Neurology or Ophthalmology teams. Neurology candidate’s role will include care of outpatients with neuro‑ophthalmology and, based on interest, other neurological conditions. Ophthalmology candidate’s role will include care of outpatients with neuro‑ophthalmology conditions, and may extend to general ophthalmology patients if desired. Outpatient practice with an inpatient neuro‑ophthalmology consult component; no night or weekend call. Potential for leadership and participation in quality improvement projects (if desired). We offer a highly competitive compensation package, health insurance, paid time off, liability insurance, an academic appointment to the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine faculty at a rank commensurate with experience, CME opportunities, malpractice coverage and an impressive pension program with a generous employer match through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). Location & Lifestyle Situated along the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio and its surrounding suburbs, the region offers an exceptional quality of life paired with a dynamic academic and clinical environment. Cleveland is home to leading healthcare institutions and a strong medical community, providing physicians with meaningful opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and innovation. Beyond the workplace, the region offers a rich cultural experience including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the world‑renowned Cleveland Orchestra, and Playhouse Square, the second‑largest performing arts district in the nation. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy more than 25,000 acres of parkland within the Cleveland Metroparks. Cleveland also boasts a passionate sports culture and a nationally recognized culinary scene described as vibrant, diverse, and balanced. With its affordable cost of living, diverse neighborhoods, and strong sense of community, Cleveland offers physicians and their families an ideal place to build both a rewarding career and a fulfilling life.
