Optometric Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optometric Technician to join our team.In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care and assisting our optometrists and ophthalmologists in performing eye evaluations.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in eye care, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping others.Duties Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and explaining procedures.Perform preliminary tests such as visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception assessments.Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.Manage front desk operations including scheduling appointments, checking in patients, and processing insurance claims.Provide support in the retail aspect of the practice by assisting patients with frame selection and understanding lens options.Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth patient flow and high-quality patient care.Educate patients on proper contact lens care and eyewear maintenance.Handle pediatric patients with patience and understanding to create a comfortable environment.Requirements Previous experience in a medical office or ophthalmology setting is preferred.Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic is a plus.Strong understanding of medical terminology related to eye care.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.Knowledge of retail math and sales techniques is beneficial for assisting patients in purchasing eyewear.Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines at all times.A commitment to providing outstanding patient care and support within a fast-paced environment.Join our team as an Optometric Technician and contribute to enhancing the vision health of our community!
