Job Description
Overview We are seeking an experienced Oral Surgery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for patient care, excellent communication skill, prior experience in oral surgery and knowledge of oral surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment. Responsibilities Assisting During Surgical Procedures: Prepare the operating room for surgery by sterilizing instruments, setting up equipment, and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Assist the oral surgeon during procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and managing surgical suction. Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as directed by the oral surgeon. Anticipate the needs of the oral surgeon during procedures and provide support accordingly. Patient Care Greet patients and prepare them for surgery by explaining procedures, addressing any concerns, and obtaining consent forms. Assist with patient positioning and ensure their comfort before, during, and after surgery. Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and caregivers, including information on pain management and dietary restrictions. Follow up with patients to assess their recovery progress and address any post-operative issues or concerns. Sterilization and Maintenance: Sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols to maintain a sterile surgical environment. Maintain and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure they are readily available when needed. Clean and disinfect the operating room between procedures to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a hygienic environment. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the oral surgery team, to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate patient care and address any issues or concerns that may arise during procedures. This position offers competitive compensation and benefits.
