Order Filler Midwest Foods is a wholesale food distributor providing top quality food products to numerous food establishments in Chicago, surrounding suburbs, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. Family owned and run company for two generations, we import fruits & vegetables from all over the country and other parts of the world to distribute these products to local markets. We are looking to compliment our growth by selecting staff that will enhance our company's mission to provide quality service and products. Midwest Foods is hiring Order Fillers to join our Shipping Team! Sunday-Friday start times are 2pm until all orders are completed (8-10 hours on average) Every Saturday and 1 varying weekday off Responsibilities Read picking sheets/screens (English) using manual sheets and WMS scanner screens/tablets Pick items (produce) and load them onto pallets by hand Confirm the right items/variant are picked correctly Ensure weight and food content (fresh, dairy, meat, etc.) do not cross contaminate or cause damage Palletize orders using shrink wrap and label pallets accordingly Dispose of garbage and debris keeping work isles and work areas clean Qualifications: Experience using WMS, handheld tablets/scanners (REQUIRED) Must be able to read English (preferred) Must be able to stand and walk for most of the shift in cold environment Lift/carry/pull/push/product up to 60 lbs. Must be able to pass a pre employment physical, background check, and drug screen.
