Job OverviewWe are looking for hard-working people with a positive attitude to join our seasonal farm crew.This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors growing healthy food on our 18 acre farm, for the community of 250 CSA members of The Good Farm, the longest running CSA in the Lehigh Valley, with over 20 years of organic vegetable production experience.Both full-time and part-time applicants will be accepted, as well as full season (April-November) and summer positions (May/June - August).Farmwork is Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day with 1 hour for lunch.Schedule is 8-4 or 7-3, depending on the season.The ideal candidate will be physically fit, self-motivated, and work well in groups.A person who enjoys the outdoors, is willing to work in extreme conditions, and has an interest in sustainable agriculture will be most suited to working with us at the Good Farm.Farm experience is not necessary, but a positive attitude, willingness to work hard, and a sense of humor is essential! Employee benefits include organic farm produce, farm store discount, exercise and sunshine.We recommend a commute of less than 1 hour, and assistance to find local housing is available if needed.Wages are based on experience and length of position, ranging from $13-$18/hr, paid biweekly.Training is provided in all tasks required for organic vegetable production, and further educational opportunities are available.Duties Planting, cultivating, and harvesting organic vegetables Washing, packing and prepping CSA share boxes for distribution to members Crop production tasks including:irrigation, weeding, installing crop infrastructure including mulches, hoops, covers, sand bags, etc.Maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution for crops Assisting with greenhouse management and plant propagation activities Heavy lifting of supplies, produce, or equipment as needed Monitoring crop health and implementing pest control measures in accordance with organic standards Qualifications Prior experience is not required, but is a plus! Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to work both in groups and on your own Farmwork is challenging, but has many benefits!
