Description We're seeking a dedicated Per Diem Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide high-quality training to visually impaired individuals, equipping them with the skills needed to travel safely and efficiently in various settings. This role involves conducting assessments, developing individualized lesson plans, and providing hands-on instruction in person. Location: Los Angeles, CA Employment Type: Per Diem (Variable) Pay Range: $50.00 - $100.00 per hour What You’ll Do Conduct initial and ongoing O&M assessments to determine individual needs. Develop and implement tailored lesson plans to help clients students’ independence in mobility. Provide direct instruction to adults (ages 18 and up) in classrooms, home settings, and community environments. Teach balance and coordination techniques as needed. Ensure students gain the skills necessary to travel with confidence and using various mobility devices and techniques. Accurately document progress and maintain detailed student records. Schedule and maintain student sessions efficiently. Other duties may be assigned. What You Bring Legally eligible to work in California. Must hold a Clinical or Rehabilitative Services Credential in Orientation and Mobility, authorizing support services to individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred. Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible experience in training disabled individuals. Valid driver’s license. Strong knowledge of Orientation and Mobility training techniques and mobility devices. Excellent communication, training, time management, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and tailor training approaches to meet individual needs. Comfortable with extensive travel within Los Angeles County, CA.
