Overview Join our dynamic team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) driver and take charge of long-haul transportation across diverse routes. In this vital role, you will operate various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, and ensure timely, safe delivery of freight to multiple destinations. Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, across long distances and different routes. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling and securement. Drive specialized trailers such as refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks based on shipment requirements. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and deliveries in compliance with federal and state regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each trip. Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen delays or incidents. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, traffic laws, and company policies to promote a safe working environment. Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for the type of truck operated (e.g., tanker, refrigerated). Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations. Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks preferred. Ability to load & unload freight efficiently using forklifts or other equipment when necessary. Knowledge of different trailer types such as flatbed, tanker, refrigerated trailer, dump truck, or roll-off truck. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to freight handling and vehicle operation.
