Company Overview Developmental Therapy Center, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the health, independence, and quality of life of children and adults throughout the Tri-State region. Since 1951, DTC has provided occupational, physical, and speech-language therapy services to individuals with a variety of diagnoses including autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down syndrome, developmental delays, and other physical and neurological challenges. Job Overview Developmental Therapy Center is seeking an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented Outpatient & Early Intervention Billing Specialist to join our team. This individual will play a vital role in managing medical billing processes, insurance claims, referral tracking, and administrative coordination for outpatient and early intervention services. The ideal candidate must have prior medical billing experience, excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Applicants without prior medical billing experience will not be considered. Responsibilities Submit and monitor medical claims to insurance companies Follow up on unpaid, denied, and rejected claims Post insurance and patient payments Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, and authorizations Obtain physician prescriptions/orders and required documentation Track outpatient and early intervention referrals from intake through scheduling Communicate professionally with physician offices, families, insurance companies, and referral sources Maintain accurate billing records and documentation within the electronic medical record system Assist with medical collections and insurance reimbursement follow-up Provide support and guidance to administrative team members assisting with billing processes Assist with additional administrative and front office duties as needed Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred Medical billing experience is required Experience billing Medicaid and commercial insurance plans preferred Strong knowledge of insurance claims, authorizations, and reimbursement procedures Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential Experience with EMR/EHR systems preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to multitask and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment Pediatric healthcare, therapy office, or early intervention experience is preferred Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications Health, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance 401(k) 16 paid holidays annually Paid sick and vacation time Family-friendly work environment Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families Join a mission-driven organization where your work directly impacts the children and families we serve throughout our community.
