Michelin One Key awardee POSITION Overnight Houseman Job Title: Overnight Houseman FLSA Status: Non- Exempt Department: Housekeeping Prepared by :Dawn Agnew Reports To: Housekeeper Supervisor and Dir.of Operatsions Prepared Date: January 30, 2026 Position Summary The overnight houseman position demands a versatile and caring individual that is able to pivot to needs of the hotel or guest requests throughout the night.The position requires attention to detail and the ability to meet and exceed expectations.The person in this role must be a self-motivator who can use their common sense to achieve all goals with a high attention to standards. Job responsibilities Provide break and back up support to overnight front desk attendant. Organize, clean, and detail work spaces for following day. Clean and maintain outside areas as needed for following day. Take out garbage for pick-up service as well as monitor and control a comprehensive hotel recycling program. Fill and sticker water bottles used in restock for following day. Maintain and clean all public restrooms and meeting space using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and/or cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping. Prepare breakfast buffet items and set up breakfast. Place linen on all dining room tables and set according to standards. Knowledge of hotel fire and emergency procedures. Successful completion of the training/certification process. Qualifications/Skills: Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and abilities.To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to communicate with guests, co-workers and management. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision. Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public. Able to answer phones and take messages for the Night Auditor during breaks and meal periods. Strong comprehension skills and able to understand training for items guest may have requested.Including TV challenges, temperature challenges, room service menu delivery. Food prep and production abilities for room service menu items and following day prep for breakfast buffet. Essential Physical Abilities: Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping.
