The essential functions include Provide overnight nursing care and health monitoring to all youth and NMDs residing in campus-based programs, ensuring their safety and wellbeing during non-daytime hours. Transcribe physician orders, receive verbal orders when necessary, and submit prescriptions to the pharmacy according to agency protocols. Administer medications as prescribed and in accordance with agency policies and procedures. Provide first aid and basic medical care as needed during the overnight shift. Obtain and maintain CPR Instructor certification to train overnight staff in CPR, First Aid, and AED use. Track standing and new lab orders; prepare lab requisitions weekly in coordination with nursing leadership. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Services to review, prepare, and distribute special dietary menus as needed. Assess youth and NMDs who return to campus after periods of unsupervised absence; develop and document appropriate overnight care plans in accordance with agency policies. Conduct monthly audits of cottages to ensure first aid supplies are stocked and health-related areas meet cleanliness standards. Maintain the medication and treatment room in audit-ready condition at all times. Support youth in understanding and managing medical conditions as indicated, using age-appropriate and trauma-informed approaches. Maintain structure and safety in the nursing office, using appropriate authority and supportive techniques to manage youth behavior when present. Accurately document all medications administered and nursing interventions in accordance with agency documentation policies. Become familiar with Hillsides' pharmacy procedures, including legal requirements for medication tracking and recordkeeping. Prepare and distribute memos and communications as needed to support continuity of care. Maintain client charts by filing medical and psychiatric documentation in both hard copy and electronic formats. Scan and upload medical documentation into the agency's electronic medical records (EMR) system. Provide leadership and direct assistance during overnight medical emergencies; transport clients for emergency medical care when needed. Record and monitor height and weight measurements as required during the shift, ensuring timely documentation per agency policy.
