Position:Overnight Shelter Site Monitor Reports to:Housing Program Manager Direct Reports:N/A Hours:Full time (12:00am - 8:30 am) FLSA Status:Hourly Compensation:$21 Location:Forest Grove, OR CENTRO CULTURAL BACKGROUND Founded in 1972 by migrant farmworkers, Centro serves as a hub for Latino culture, economic empowerment, policy advocacy and civic engagement, supportive housing and stabilization, comprehensive food security services, community health and wellness, senior programming; and K-12 STEM education for youth.Our programs and services remove barriers to health, well-being, and economic mobility to achieve prosperity and self-determination.POSITION DESCRIPTION Housing and supportive services are a key piece of Centro's vision for an equitable community where everyone is able to belong and thrive, and its mission to serve the needs of our diverse community by promoting personal growth and empowerment.The participants served in Centro's housing programs are experiencing extremely low incomes, most experience one or more disabling conditions, and all are experiencing or at imminent risk of experiencing long term or frequent episodes of literal homelessness.The Overnight Shelter Site Monitor ensures that Centro's housing site is functional, clean and safe, so that they reflect the dignity and respect we show for our participants, and so participants can feel comfortable and secure.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Property Safety and Security Management Serve as caretaker for operations in maintaining the 24-7 coverage to ensure safety, and security for all.Monitor behaviors and environment to ensure safety.Recognize potentially dangerous activity and inform daytime staff.Respond to participant requests, complaints, and concerns promptly, such as replacement keys or needed supplies.Ensure there are no unauthorized guests on the property at any time.Visitors are solely approved by the Housing Program Manager.Engage in conversations with participants to provide a welcoming environment and be a readily available on site resource to resolve participant needs.Monitor site activities at all times.Walk site grounds approximately hourly to check that everything is functional, identify any issues, and communicate with participants.Report any problem activities to shelter staff or police, as appropriate.Towards the end of each shift, walk the grounds, pick up trash and ensure there are no safety hazards.Prepare property during inclement weather events.Maintain good relationships with participants through frequent interaction and effective follow-through.Enforce the Casa Amparo Participant Agreement rules and regulations and provide documentation of disputes or issues.Create and submit incident reports while on shift, or at a minimum of within 24 hours of becoming aware of an incident.Review camera footage in real time and previous footage as assigned by shelter staff.Serve as representative for court proceedings, including evictions.Supervise any on-site emergencies that may arise.Make recommendations for physical repairs, replacements and/or improvements.General office tasks such as printing, filing, posting notices, copies, etc.Serve as a mandatory reporter as defined by the state of Oregon for child and elder abuse.Fill out and submit maintenance requests.Document activities and services provided while on shift in the Casa Amparo log.Provide as much notice as possible when you will be unable to work your scheduled shift.On-site presence required 5 days per week at the discretion of the supervisor.Other duties as assigned EQUITY At Centro Cultural, our foundation is equity and belonging.Our team is deeply connected to and invested in our community throughout Oregon.This is our familia, and we work to meet people where they are and feel a responsibility to ensure everyone has the opportunity to thrive.We live by the motto that:la comunidad es nuestra fuerza, the community is our strength.PREFERRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS Centro Cultural recognizes and values lived experience as demonstration of professional competencies and skills.We review applications using a comprehensive approach, identifying candidate strengths.The ideal candidate has the following skills and experiences or their equivalent, demonstrating ability to perform position Responsibilities:A passionate commitment to the goals and mission of Centro Cultural.Understanding of Washington County low income, Latino community and other communities of color, ability to provide a participant centered approach and excellent customer service that is sensitive to the challenges of homelessness, including medical and behavioral health issues.Associates degree preferred or High school Diploma/GED with 2 years of public facing experience.1 year of experience working with property management, building maintenance, and responding to emergent needs.Ability to manage high stress situations, interact with participants experiencing a variety of needs.Organized and self-mot
