Position Summary Appalachian Producers Cooperative is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Packaging & Cleaning Associate to support daily production operations.This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, food safety, and sanitation standards are maintained throughout the facility.Previous food production, agriculture, or sanitation experience preferred but not required.We will train the right candidate.Key Responsibilities Packaging Duties Package fresh meat products according to company specifications Label products accurately with correct weight, pricing, and product information Assist with vacuum sealing and boxing of finished goods Organize product for cooler or freezer storage Maintain clean and orderly packaging areas Cleaning & Sanitation Duties Clean and sanitize equipment, tools, and work surfaces Assist with end-of-day sanitation on production floors Follow all SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures) guidelines Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals Support general facility cleanliness, including floors, drains, and workstations Qualifications Must be able to read English and do simple math calculations Ability to work in a cold environment (coolers and processing areas) Ability to lift 40-50 lbs.regularly Strong attention to detail Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to understand and strictly follow food safety and safety protocols Previous food production or sanitation experience preferred but not required Work Environment Meat processing facility Cold and wet conditions Fast-paced production environment Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required (Will be provided) Compensation Part-time hourly position:Monday - Wednesday 8am to 5pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. Pay based on experience, starting at $15-$18 per hour Physical Requirements Standing for extended periods Repetitive hand movements Lifting, bending, and pushing carts and carrying 40-50lbboxes Tolerate cold environments (processing floor is kept at 40F) Pay:$15.00 - $18.00 per hour Work Location:In person.
