Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Painter to join our vibrant Student Painters team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through painting techniques, ensuring high-quality finishes on residential Houses and Decks in the Grand Rapids area. Duties Prepare surfaces meticulously by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and caulking to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools for efficient coverage. Execute a variety of painting projects including residential painting, commercial painting, and construction painting, Deck Staining Drop Cloth all areas, Brush and Roll Only. Qualifications On-the-Job Training, No Experience Needed Proven experience in construction painting with knowledge of residential and commercial projects. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding safety procedures, and airless paint spraying equipment. Experience with plastering, caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, and restoration projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of construction estimating principles combined with basic math skills for project planning. Hands-on experience with welding or industrial painting is a plus, but not required. Excellent attention to detail coupled with good physical stamina for working on sites involving framing or concrete finishing tasks.
