Provides advanced life support for critically ill/injured patients at the scene and during transport as part of the transport team. Responsibilities: Identifies, intervenes, and stabilizes the ill or injured patient during interfacility and intrafacility as part of the transport team in collaboration with the transport physician and/or Registered Nurse. Initiates and implements interventions based on transport team protocols. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition and treatment, as appropriate. Contacts receiving medical personnel, reports observations and follows directives. Inspects, maintains and cares for equipment to ensure safety of the transport team, patients and public. May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies. ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Associate complies with the following organizational requirements: Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared. Completes mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes. Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes. Maintains license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year. Direct patient care providers are required to maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position/department.
