About The Bloom School: The Bloom School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit early childhood program serving children ages 3–6, including typically developing children and children with disabilities. Our program utilizes an indoor/outdoor, play-based curriculum and provides integrated therapeutic services within the school setting. Classrooms maintain a 5:1 student-to-staff ratio, with a maximum of 10 students per class led by a dually certified Early Childhood and Special Education teacher and supported by a paraprofessional. www.thebloomschool.org Position Summary: The Paraprofessional supports the Lead Teacher in implementing instructional programming, facilitating therapeutic carryover, and maintaining a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment. This role requires professionalism, flexibility, and a strong commitment to inclusive early childhood education. Essential Responsibilities: Instructional Support: Assist in implementing daily lesson plans aligned with early childhood and special education best practices. Support small-group and individualized instruction under teacher direction. Facilitate language, social-emotional, motor, and adaptive skill development. Assist with data collection and progress monitoring. Student Support: Provide behavioral and emotional regulation support. Implement accommodations and modifications as directed. Support toileting, feeding, and self-help skill development as needed. Ensure student safety during indoor and outdoor learning activities. Therapy Collaboration Support carryover of speech, occupational, physical, and behavioral therapy goals within the classroom. Collaborate with therapists and teaching staff to maintain consistency of interventions. Classroom Environment Prepare instructional materials and learning centers. Maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety of classroom spaces. Supervise students during transitions, outdoor play, and meal times. Qualifications: Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with young children (ages 3–6). Ability to follow instructional guidance and maintain professional boundaries. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred: Experience in early childhood education, special education, ABA, or therapy settings. Associate’s degree or coursework in education, child development, or related field. CPR/First Aid certification. Core Competencies: Patience and emotional regulation. Reliability and punctuality. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic classroom setting. Commitment to inclusion and child-centered learning. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Frequent sitting on floor, kneeling, bending, and active engagement with children.
