Position Title- Parenting Coordinator Position Type- 20 hours per week Pay- $17,000 The Family Resource Center of Gordon County is dedicated to helping families achieve parental resilience, social connections, concrete support in times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence of children. The Parenting Coordinator works with families by facilitating evidence-based parenting classes, utilizing Nurturing Parenting and Active Parenting curriculua. Using lessons delivered in a group setting, the Parenting Coordinator will assess, identify, and facilitate evidence-based classes using family-centered initiatives, training techniques, and tools to build nurturing parenting skills and child-rearing practices. The Parenting Coordinator is accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, facilitating, and reporting on all Parenting with Purpose program components. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field is recommended (or an equivalent degree in countries outside of the United States), or a two-year degree or 60 college hours in early childhood or a related field is preferred. At a minimum, you must have a high school diploma or GED and two years of previous work experience with young children, teens, and/or parents. Experience with group facilitation preferred. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to establish rapport with families and empower them by building on their strengths. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to prepare and maintain records, data, forms, reports, tracking tools, and documents. Computer skills, including web browsing, e-mail, Internet, and word processing. Must be able to work one evening per week and 3 hours on Saturdays while classes are in session Sessions run as follows: Parenting in Action - 8 weeks on Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Families in Action from 9:00 to 11:30 or 1:00 on Saturdays Other Requirements: Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must successfully pass a background check. Represent the Family Resource Center at various community events and other duties as assigned.
