JOB The City of Norcross is looking for a Part-time Park Attendant -Seasonal. The purpose of this position is to assist with the upkeep, cleaning, and maintenance of the City’s parks, the downtown area and other services of the Parks and Recreation Department. This includes duties such as cleaning/stocking bathrooms, picking up trash, emptying trash cans, general cleanup of the parks, fountains and facilities and monitoring the use of the parks’ amenities. This position has recurring work situations involving moderate degrees of customer service. The need for positivity, courteousness, efficiency, and attention-to-detail is high. The need for accuracy and effective utilization of accepted programs and routines is high. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs assigned duties such as day to day park activities, athletics, maintenance, special events and programs.Assist staff during the various program activities offered by the department. Monitor parks and facilities during operating hours.May receive guidance from the Parks and Recreation Maintenance Coordinator and/or Program Coordinator.Assist staff during special events.Monitors splash pad and other water features.Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Any other duties as assigned by the Parks and Recreation Superintendent. The need for accuracy and effective utilization of accepted programs and routines is high. Errors in judgment will waste resources and adversely impact performance. Incumbent operates independently but work is verified. Content of work priorities are determined by supervision.
