The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform.Duties Description Under the direction of park management, the Park Recreation Activities Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of day-to-day parkwide recreational activities, including polo and golf events.Duties include, but are not limited to:o Interfaces with park employees and patrons regarding answering informational questions and resolving complaints and concerns pertaining to park events and golf operations.o Monitors Park emails and responds promptly to customer issues and questions with the park reservation system, and golf reservation questions.o Assists in the preparation and operations of golf outings (large and small), special events on course, and on the polo field.o Assists in the preparation of daily schedules for golf operations staff (rangers and starters) and outing events, ensuring that they have adequate coverage.o Assists in conducting inspections of the clubhouse, sports and polo fields, and the golf course areas ensuring they are clean and safe.o Assists in supervising, training, and scheduling lower-level permanent staff, in addition to seasonal and volunteer staff.o Other related duties as assigned.The minimum qualifications required for this vacancy.Minimum Qualifications NY HELPS or 55-b/c Qualifications:This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). To be considered for appointment through NY HELPS, or 55-b/c, candidates must meet the open-competitive minimum qualifications for this position.The qualifications are:Two years of experience in an organized recreation program, six months of which must have been supervisory.Reassignment Qualifications:Current NYS Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation Employees only, with at least one year of permanent or contingent-permanent qualifying service as a Park Recreation Activities Specialist.
