Job Title: Part-Time Faculty -- Philosophy --Fall 26/Spring 27 Location: Gordon State College Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Part-Time Job ID: 298354 About Us Founded in 1852, GSC is a member of the University System of Georgia. The college has a distinctive legacy of excellent scholarship and service. GSC offers nearly 30 degrees, which includes multiple associate and baccalaureate pathways for students. With an enrollment of over 3,100 students, GSC offers an intimate academic setting with state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories. In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide. Job Summary Gordon State College is recruiting for part-time faculty to teach courses in Philosophy. Responsibilities Teaching: Teach assigned courses ensuring high-quality delivery of content and student engagement. Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development, review, and updating of course materials and syllabus to ensure alignment with academic standards. Student Support: Provide timely feedback on assignments, assessments, and exams; hold office hours for student consultations; and offer academic guidance and mentorship. Assessment and Grading: Assess student performance through assignments, tests, projects, and other methods as defined by the course syllabus. Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow faculty members to improve instructional quality and student success. Professional Development: Stay updated on teaching methods and research to improve instructional effectiveness. Administrative Responsibilities: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and any other necessary documentation. Required Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Philosophy with 18 or more semester credit hours in that discipline. Two (2) years teaching experience in higher education. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree in Philosophy. Three (3) - Five (5) years of teaching at the college level, preferably in an online environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
