About Us Taking Root Gardening is a Boston-based fine gardening company providing garden maintenance, planting, and design services for residential clients.We currently maintain gardens in Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, Brookline, Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Lincoln, Concord, and Lexington.The Role We are hiring an experienced part-time gardener to assist with fine gardening work at residential properties.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, appreciates plants and nature, and takes pride in detailed garden care.Applicants must have prior experience in fine gardening and be willing to drive to all towns in our service area.Responsibilities Perennial and annual care (deadheading, pinching, weeding, staking) Shrub pruning Planting annuals, perennials, shrubs, and small trees Garden bed maintenance Seasonal garden cleanups Requirements Prior experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping, or related fields Reliable vehicle you are willing to carry gardening tools in Willingness to drive to all towns in our service area Strong understanding of plant growth requirements and sustainable gardening practices Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions with physical stamina for manual labor Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently Perks of the Job Flexible schedule Peaceful outdoor work environments Low-stress work that supports physical and mental well-being Opportunity to further hone fine gardening skills Collaborative small business environment where creative ideas are welcomed To Apply Please send a resume and a short note describing:Types of plants you have worked with Gardening tasks you have performed (pruning, perennial care, planting, garden maintenance, container design and care, etc.) Join us in cultivating beautiful outdoor environments while enjoying flexible hours that fit your lifestyle!
