Overview Join our dedicated mental health team as a Part-Time Mental Health Therapist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals across diverse age groups and backgrounds. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based therapy to promote mental wellness, resilience, and recovery. This position offers flexible scheduling, allowing you to balance your professional passion with personal commitments while delivering impactful care through in-person and telehealth modalities. Duties Conduct comprehensive intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards for accurate diagnosis and documentation. Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis. Implement crisis intervention strategies to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or behavioral crises. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate medication management (psychopharmacology) when appropriate and coordinate case management efforts. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accuracy in medical terminology and coding for billing purposes using CPT coding standards. Provide specialized support for clients with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, grief issues, chronic pain, or gender-related counseling needs. Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to best practices within behavioral health services. Skills Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, addiction counseling, and behavior management. Strong working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and billing processes. Skilled in crisis management and crisis intervention strategies to handle urgent mental health situations effectively. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to tailor interventions for children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder. Familiarity with telehealth platforms and delivering services remotely while maintaining confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, medical staff, and community resources. Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health treatments and familiarity with inpatient/outpatient clinical settings.
