Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Residential Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing team at Abilis! Job Summary: Residential LPNs provide exceptional care in our residential group homes. This role is pivotal in supporting residents to live as independently as possible while ensuring their health, safety, and well-being. Previous experience with developmental disabilities is preferred but not required; relevant work or personal experience will be considered. Key Responsibilities: Provide hands-on care including toileting, bathing, feeding, and administering medications. Monitor residents’ health conditions, including vital signs, and report any significant changes to the healthcare team. Ensure the overall health and safety of residents, addressing their daily needs with compassion and professionalism. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all nursing activities, including care provided, changes in condition, and communication with healthcare providers. Assist with the daily operation of the residential home, including domestic duties and maintaining a clean and supportive living environment. Promote a warm, family-like atmosphere that fosters residents’ learning, independence, and self-esteem. Facilitate positive communication among staff, families, residents, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with the Residential Manager and other team members to adapt to varying situations and fulfill the home’s needs. Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and stay current with best practices. Promote positive relations within the community and advocate for the needs of the residents. Respond to emergencies and provide first aid or basic life support as necessary. Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification. A strong sense of empathy and compassion for the individuals we support. Valid driver’s license.
