Part-time Monday - Sunday Summer Camp Shift: 7:45 am - 4:00 pm Wonder Lab and Pop Up Events: 7:30 am - 9:30pm About Us: Wonder and Whoa is a cultural curiosity studio for children (ages 0-12) and families, designed to spark curiosity, instill confidence, and create meaningful memories through hands-on exploration of global cultures. Cultural exploration takes place through camps, special events, and teacher-led activities centered around Mindfulness and Gratitude, Arts and Crafts, Food Play and Nutrition, Music, Nature Play, Storytelling and Sensory Play for under 2 year olds). Position Overview: We are seeking a creative and culturally-minded Arts and Crafts Lead to lead hands-on crafting sessions that inspire young artists in a variety of settings (Summer Camp, Wonder Lab, and additional pop-up events). The role involves guiding children through projects that reflect the styles, materials, and themes of the cultures we explore. The right candidate will lead activities across all of the Wonder and Whoa pillars (Mindfulness and Gratitude, Arts and Crafts, Food Play and Nutrition, Music, Nature Play, Storytelling and Sensory Play for under 2 year olds), but crafting is a big part of what we do so it's most important that this right candidate be comfortable with creating. Responsibilities: Facilitate engaging sessions for children ages 3-12, focusing on culturally themed projects that highlight unique perspectives from around the world. Collaborate with the Wonder and Whoa team to design and adapt activities that align with each cultural theme and are elevated beyond simple paper crafts. Set up and organize art materials before each session, and ensure clean-up afterward to maintain a safe and creative environment. Encourage self-expression, cultural appreciation, and hands-on learning through projects that connect children with various global traditions. Foster a positive, inclusive space that nurtures creativity and curiosity in each child. Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques and effective group management skills Qualifications: Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, or camp settings is highly preferred Nice to have: Experience teaching arts and crafts to children, with a background in art, art education, or related fields. Excitement around global art traditions and culture. Excellent organizational skills and ability to foster a non-chaotic studio environment while exploring multiple materials and mess making. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with the Wonder and Whoa Director when she is off site An ability to inspire young artists and genuinely share the excitement of the culture we’re exploring (their interest level directly correlates with your energy and excitement) Flexibility to work one or more shifts, depending on availability. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour Work Location: In person
