We care for you. Position Overview Join our team as a Care Coordinator who contributes to the success of a high-performing organization committed to delivering superior care and exceptional service. Performs a range of administrative and customer service tasks, providing valuable support to the hospital. Within the veterinary field, this position aligns closely with roles often titled Veterinary Receptionist, Customer Service Representative, or Client Care Specialist. West Chester Veterinary Medical Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania has been a devoted and trusted veterinary resource for over 50 years, serving pets and their families with a broad range of services from wellness and dentistry to internal medicine, geriatrics, surgery, and ultrasound — all with extended weekday hours that make quality care accessible for busy families. The hospital also serves communities throughout Delaware and Delaware County, extending its reach well beyond West Chester with the same quality and compassionate service that has defined the practice for decades. Key Responsibilities Provides excellent customer service in-person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations. Manages lobby flow, addresses concerns, calms distressed owners, and schedules appointments. Handles basic medical emergencies for pets and owners, ensuring safety and well-being. Assists with medication pickups, inquiries, and provides information about services and products. Inputs and manages data in practice management software, including billing and accounts. Assists with retail sales, weighing pets, processing faxes, and maintaining records. Reconciles cash drawer and performs end-of-day duties for accurate financial transactions. Qualifications (Required) High school diploma or GED May consider an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience Knowledge of clerical procedures such as alphabetizing files and records Ability to provide great customer service in a courteous, prompt, and efficient manner Ability to perform cashier duties accurately Ability to multitask and pay close attention to details Must be flexible with scheduling and able to work some weekends and holidays Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation and/or extended periods of time standing and/or walking May involve some climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling Some tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting or carrying moderately heavy animals (up to 50 pounds) Preferred Skills (Nice to Have) 2 years veterinary medicine experience Familiar with cornerstone software Schedule 10AM-3PM from Monday through Friday Some availability is sufficient, but Wednesdays and Fridays are needed.
