Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Counter Parts Salesman to join our automotive parts team. This role involves managing inventory, assisting customers, and ensuring the efficient operation of the parts department. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair processes. Bilingual skills and dealership experience are highly valued to enhance customer service and sales effectiveness. Duties Research and identify correct Equipment replacement parts using manufacturer catalogs, online resources, and internal systems Assist customers at the parts counter, including walk-in customers, with a focus on Equipment, and related equipment parts Prepare and respond to emailed quote requests for parts in a timely and accurate manner Handle parts estimates, orders, and inquiries over the phone with professionalism and attention to detail Process equipment parts sales and ensure all orders are accurate and complete Maintain marine parts shelves by keeping inventory organized, stocked, and clearly labeled Monitor inventory levels for equipment parts and notify management of low or fast-moving items Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts counter and marine inventory areas Arrive on time, prepared to work, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Work collaboratively with team members to ensure excellent customer service and smooth daily marine parts operations Qualifications Previous experience in parts sales, counter sales, or customer service preferred Mechanical aptitude or general understanding of parts, equipment, or engines is a plus Ability to research and identify correct parts using catalogs, diagrams, and online resources Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and by email Comfortable handling walk-in customers, phone orders, and emailed quote requests Basic computer skills; ability to learn POS, inventory, and parts lookup systems Attention to detail to ensure accurate part identification, pricing, and order processing Ability to stay organized and keep shelves and inventory areas clean and stocked Dependable, punctual, and reliable with a positive, professional attitude Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team Willingness to learn new products, brands, and systems Preferred but not required: Experience in automotive, marine, equipment, diesel, or power equipment parts Bilingual English/Spanish Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour Salary+Commission Expected hours: 40 per week+ Over Time Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits Employee assistance program Employee discount Paid time off Professional development assistance Work Location: In person
