Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pastry Assistant to join our award-winning pastry team. This individual will support the execution of our dessert and bread program, contributing to the production of plated desserts, house-made viennoiserie, tarts, entremets, and other French-inspired confections. The ideal candidate is passionate about pastry arts, demonstrates strong fundamentals, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in the preparation, production, and finishing of a variety of desserts and pastries, including pâte à choux, mousses, custards, laminated doughs, and sauces Ensure daily mise en place is completed and maintained throughout service Support bread and viennoiserie production as needed (e.g., croissants, brioche, baguettes) Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation in the pastry station Follow recipes and techniques accurately while meeting quality and consistency standards Assist in plating desserts during service in a timely and artistic manner Monitor inventory of pastry ingredients and assist with ordering and receiving as required Collaborate closely with the pastry team and broader kitchen staff to ensure smooth service Requirements 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in pastry or bakery production (culinary school graduates encouraged to apply) Strong foundation in classic pastry techniques and terminology Familiarity with French pastries, breads, and plated desserts is a plus Excellent knife skills, precision, and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently, multitask, and follow direction in a high-pressure environment Must be punctual, dependable, and have a strong work ethic Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays What We Offer Competitive hourly pay and tip share (if applicable) Opportunities for growth and advancement within our culinary team Collaborative, respectful, and passionate work environment Training in traditional and modern pastry techniques Compensation: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
