Job Title:Patrol DeputyLocation:Hemphill County, TXEmployment Type:Full-Time Overview A county law enforcement agency is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Patrol Deputy.This position is responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and responding to a wide range of emergency and non-emergency situations.The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, independence, and the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments.Compensation & Benefits Annual salary:$58,221 certificate pay County-paid medical insurance (employee) Dental, vision, and supplemental insurance options Retirement plan (TCDRS):7% employee contribution with employer match (vested after 8 years) Paid time off 10 paid holidays annually Take-home patrol vehicle Uniforms and equipment provided Key Responsibilities Respond to calls for service and enforce federal, state, and local laws Conduct routine patrols to deter and detect criminal activity Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and prepare reports Mediate disputes and provide assistance to the public Apprehend suspects and transport detainees Protect life and property in potentially hazardous situations Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies as needed Qualifications Active Basic Peace Officer License (TCOLE) or higher High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment Must reside in or relocate to Hemphill County within 90 days of hire Work Environment This role involves exposure to potentially dangerous situations, including responding to emergencies, handling volatile individuals, and operating in unpredictable conditions.Candidates must be prepared for physical and mental demands associated with law enforcement duties.Pay:$58,220.00 - $58,221.00 per year Benefits:457(b) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Retirement plan Work Location:In person.
