Brief Description The Payments and Wires Specialist is responsible for overseeing and processing all incoming and outgoing wires, which include domestic and international wires, loan funding, drawdowns, and Treasury Management online-initiated wires. This position is accountable for accurate initiation, verification, and releasing of Fed wire payments to and from the Federal Reserve System and Correspondent Banks. This role will assist the bank in combating fraud by monitoring the status of wires with our online OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) queue, releasing wires according to established OFAC guidelines, guaranteeing appropriate approvals are obtained on wire forms, and remaining current of regulatory changes, system enhancements, and departmental policies. Verify and process an average of 1,000 or more incoming/outgoing U.S., international wire transfers, and services messages, the Federal Reserve Bank, SWIFT, and correspondent bank systems. Input manual wires for retail customers and internal departments. Monitor all online queues, such as repair, rejections, and Treasury Management-initiated wires. Research and resolve wire validation errors, wire rejects/returns, audit exceptions, audit requests, compliance requests, accounting reconciliation questions, and customer wire inquiries. Perform end-of-day balancing with the Federal Reserve Bank. Working knowledge of wire transfer investigations and related SWIFT messaging pertaining to inquiries. Remain diligent and comply with all related bank and department policies, audit standards, the bank’s Customer Identification Program (CIP), OFAC guidelines, regulatory mandates (i.e., Dodd-Frank Act, Regulation E., etc.), and all required bank training and/or courses. Keep abreast of industry scams, fraud trends, and evolving security risks. Participate in special projects. Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 2+ years’ experience in banking or finance, required. 2+ years’ experience in wire transfer operations, required. 1+ years’ experience in international wire transfer operations, required. Working knowledge of the Dodd-Frank Act, Regulation E, U.S. Patriot Act: OFAC, Uniform Commercial Code 4A, FinCEN (Financial Crimes Enforcement Network), and Federal Reserve Board: Regulation J – Compliance Guide. Working knowledge of FedLine and Wire Transfer Systems, preferred. Knowledge of SWIFT preferred. Well organized and attentive to detail. Ability to operate related computer applications. Willingness to assist and support others.
